Anastrozole Tamoxifen

Q: Does anyone know if either Tamoxifen or Anastrozole have any affect on Dry MD?
A: I am guessing you mean dry AMD (macular degeneration). Tamoxifen can cause a certain macular retinopathy with very high doses and if given over a long period of time. The sort of doses that are generally administered after breast cancer does not cause this retinopathy and is completely unrelated to AMD
Q: Are the folling two steroids?
Tamoxifen citrate and anastrozole
A: Tamoxifen is a drug used in hormone therapy in cancer (breast cancer). However, the way it works is by interacting with the Estrogen receptor, so you could consider it a “steroid” to some extent.
Tamixifen citrate has quite a few applications for the steroid using athlete. First and foremost, it´s most common use is for the prevention of gynocomastia. It does this by actually competing for the receptor site in breast tissue, and binding to it. The effect of tamoxifen is through estrogen receptor blockade of breast tissue, especially since total body estradiol increases with use of tamoxifen.
Anastrozole is what we call an aromatase inhibitor (AI). In clinical use, it´s used to halt the progression of Breast Cancer in women. It works by blocking the aromatase enzyme, which is responsible for the production of estrogen. In athletics and bodybuilding, it is used as an ancillary compound to be added to a cycle of Anabolic Steroids. In this respect it is also used for its estrogen reducing properties, but it has the additional benefit of increasing testosterone levels.
Many anabolic steroids aromatize (convert to estrogen via the aromatase enzyme), and this is responsible for many of the unwanted side effects found with anabolic steroid use (acne, gynocomastia, water-retention, etc…). Be careful if you are planning to use them.
Q: What are the side effects when using SERMs or AIs?
If I were to use SERMs or AI, what are the side effects?
SERMs= Clomiphene Citrate (Clomid), Tamoxifen (Nolvadex), Toremifene Citrate (Fareston), and Raloxifene hydrochloride (Evista).
AIs=Anastrozole (Arimidex), Aromasin (Exemestane), and Letrozole (Femara).
I hope I didn’t need to write this, but no, I’m not going to use them at the same time.
IF I decide to use something, I won’t use a SERM with an AI, instead I’ll aim to use them separately. I’ll look into that, because if I CAN use both at the same time, I probably will aim for that.
Toremifene: Some possible side effects include the risk of stroke, pulmonary embolism, and cataracts.
Anybody with a serious answer? These aren’t for any kind of performance, but more like keeping E levels down for example when you age, or when you use steroids.
There are natural ways, I know, but are there any side effects IF I would use a SERM or AI?
I’m here, I’ll be giving out the Best Answer award, but all I need is to know of any possible side effects, if there are any at all.
I’ll still give out the BA if you mail me.(of course you still have to post something on my answer)
A: Do you have breast cancer?
I took Arimidex for five years. I can’t imagine why anyone would want to take such a drug other than to do all they could to prevent recurrence or metasasis of a filthy, life-threatening disease.
That some people take them to improve sporting performance beggars belief.

Edit: My answer is deadly serious.
Still, you want the side effects of Arimidex – here they are:
Stiff, aching joints.
Hot flushes
Hair thinning/loss.
Insomnia
Headaches
Depression
Weight gain.
Tiredness and lethargy
Those are the ones I had myself. The joint pain and stiffness was particularly severe, and that has been the case for almost every other Arimidex user I’ve met through breast cancer support networks.
The rest are side effects of Arimidex that I personally didn’t have. I know a number of breast cancer patients who had/have the first one though – two have oesteopenia:
Loss of the mineral content of bones; risk of osteoporosis.
Vaginal dryness
Nausea, vomiting) and diarrhoea
Headaches .
Skin rashes
Vaginal bleeding
I chose Arimidex over Tamoxifen because the side effects were less horrific.
Common Tamoxifen side effects include hot sweats, fatihue, joint pain, nausea. Every woman I know who had to take it gained weight.
Less common side effects are depression and hair thinning.
Rarer side effects are liver changes, eye problems and womb cancer.
I had to take one of these drugs to help save my life. I wouldn’t have touched them with a bargepole otherwise. Serious enough for you?
